Saphir NL

Saphir NL is a tool developed for pressure transient analysis and is an Industry standard with over more 2700 commercial licenses distributed world-wide.

Analytical models Saphir NL includes all types of well models, reservoir models and boundary models. Additional capabilities include rate dependent skin, changing wellbore storage, interference from other wells, gas material balance correction, well model changing in time, horizontal and vertical anisotropy.

Numerical models In the non-linear (NL) versions, the linear slightly compressible fluid replaced by the exact diffusion problem. Super-position in time no longer applies and the numerical model is run as a seamlessly integrated standard simulator. These numerical models also address nonlinearity. Numerical Models deals includes the exact diffusion equations for real gas, non-Darcy flow, pressure related physical properties, multiphase flow, water and gas injectors, water drives, and more recently desorption models for shale gas and CBM.

Topaze NL

Since the introduction of Topaze in 2003 Production Analysis (PA) has moved forward significantly. The old methods of assuming constant pressure or empirical decline functions have been replaced by a process employing advanced methodology such as Blasingame plot and using true diagnostics based on the analytical and numerical modeling capabilities developed in Pressure Transient Analysis.

In Topaze NL, the slightly compressible fluid assumption and pseudopressures are replaced by the exact diffusion equations. In particular Topaze NL can handle water influx and 2-phase flow with water in the reservoir.

Rubis - Multi Purpose Numerical Model

Rubis is a 3D, 3 phase, multi purpose numerical modeler which sits somewhere between single cell material balance and massive full-field simulation models. It replaces neither, but does much of the work of both. One can build simple numerical models intuitively with no special training. The geometry can be built interactively or can be imported from a geomodeler or another simulator. The unstructured Voronoi grid is built automatically to include finer grid cells close to the wells. The engineer concentrates on the problem, keeps the model updated, running multiple forecasts, reserves and investigation of possible intervention opportunities in a very short time frame, not worrying about the mechanics of 'driving' a complex simulator. Connection is seamless between other KAPPA modules.

Rubis+ is a logical extension to Rubis multipurpose numerical model capabilities. It includes an interactive surface network implicitly linked to the Rubis model. It also has the capability to aggregate Rubis cells providing speeds, simplicity and functionality similar to those in material balance which are perfectly adequate when considering linked Rubis-Network calculations.

Emeraude - Cased Hole Logging

Production logging is now seen as a powerful quantitative methods that takes its own place in the set of data acquisition tools for the reservoir engineer, alongside transient and production analysis. No longer just the tool of last resort, PL is now used as a calibration point for reservoir model and as an important tool in the development over time of the producing intervals in the wellbore. The interpretation process has shifted into the hands of the end-user engineer due, to a great extent, to the development of client, as opposed to tool focused software; Emeraude From Vertical injectors to horizontal or highly deviated multi-phase producers, Emeraude provides a comprehensive and intuitive sets of tools, to produce results from the log data from simple through to the most sophisticated tool strings.

With the release of v5.30.01 Emeraude moves from being a production log analysis software to a fully integrated cased hole log analysis platform.
With automated, tool agnostic loading, it is now possible to compute the flow profile using the most complex array tools, perform well integrity and cement evaluation analysis, calculate formation saturation and perform reservoir description studies in the same environment.
Distributed Temperature (DTS) is now fully supported and complements the thermal modeling capability of Rubis.

Citrine - Field Performance Analysis

Field Performance Analysis often involves analyzing hundreds, sometimes thousands of multifractured horizontal wells with low resolution data. But the demands on engineers remain the same, to analyse these wells and to provide regular forecasts, reserves and performance optimization. With such massive data, there is insufficient time to precisely model every well. Traditional decline curve analysis is often used, however in shale reservoirs these techniques which were originally developed for conventional formations, are not adapted to the transient nature of unconventional reservoirs.

Citrine provides two workflow methods for analysing the performance of a field. The first uses traditional decline curve analyses. All the common empirical decline models are available for fitting a decline curve to the well data and regression tools are used quickly apply the decline curves to all the wells in the field. These methods are simple to use and provide quick forecasts, however in unconventional formations we are fitting decline curves to transient behavior. Consequently, a second workflow method was developed that consists of identifying a ‘type well’, accurately modeling the well with Topaze, and then applying this as a proxy model to a group of wells.

KAPPA-Server Permanent Gauges Reservoir Surveillance

Permanent Gauges are a remarkable source of information of both long term production data and the capture of occasional buildups that may be described as ‘free well tests’. Data are acquired at high frequency and over a long duration. The down side is the large number of data points gathered, which can amount to hundreds of millions per sensor which is far beyond the processing capability of today’s fastest PC. There are a number of challenges: storing and accessing the raw data, filtering, transferring this to the relevant analysis module and finally sharing both filtered data and analyses.

KAPPA-Server is a client-server solution for Permanent Gauges reservoir surveillance that addresses these issues in a shared environment. It permanently mirrors raw data from any data historian, reduces the number of points with wavelet-based filtering, stores and shares the filtered data. Filtered data can be exported to third party databases.
